The name ‘Quinta da Branca’ in Portuguese refers to a magnificent white villa. Situated on the outskirts of a village or town, Goa, a region heavily influenced by Portuguese rule, boasts a rich history dating back to 1510 when the Portuguese invaded and defeated the Bijapur Sultanate. Their rule, which lasted for approximately 450 years, has left an enduring impact on Goan culture, cuisine, and architecture.

The Story of Behind
Our Resort
The blood of hospitality runs in our family tree. My father late Thomas Lobo was a chef who worked in Europe and the Middle East. He retired and came back home and set up a beach Restaurant (Good Luck Beach café) {now popularly known as Shacks} in the late seventies.
The people who were fed up of the 2nd world War were on a hunt in their caravans, driving across the globe to look out for the paradise place for their survival and relaxation. When they stumbled upon Goa, they fell in love with the natural beauty. These people were called the flower children. They were looking for love and peace. These are the people who brought Goa on the tourism map.
I took over my father’s business at the tender age of 14 years whilst I was still schooling in 1985. I witnessed the change of tourism from flower children to hippies to backpackers to Barmi Army, to charter tourists, to domestic tourists to Russians etc…
We started our second venture Baga blue marine in the early 90’s. I am the general secretary of all the government shacks on the beaches of Goa. Now my Son Russell is the 3rd generation descendant to be in the hospitality industry. We have spent all our lives interacting and serving foreign tourists. It’s with great pride that I have to say that who else would know to serve the tourists in the most hospitable way.
